Medium Rare Steak & Wine in Bangkok

Very convenient location right outside the Cleveland Park metro station. Atmosphere is super fun, complete with friendly wait staff and classic rock music. The bread and the salad are perfect appetizers and the STEAK and the FRIES! WOW! The best I've ever had. That sauce is incredible and the best part is, you get TWO helpings if you are still hungry! Who cares that it's a set menu, it's pretty damn good.

Medium Rare DC just delivered dinner for my husband and I because we are high risk for going out during the virus pandemic. The food was delicious and the gesture was extraordinarily kind. We have eaten in the restaurant a number of times and we would recommend it highly.

They basically just do one thing - delicious bread followed by delicious salad followed by delicious steak and fries. All for a very reasonable price of $23. If that sounds good to you then this is your place. Highly recommended!

We arrived on time, but had to wait 25 minutes for our table. Zero apologies from the hostesses. One of them, who was especially “classy”, suggested in a “classy” comment, that we are too eager to sit at our table. This “classy” lady was definitely born for this job.

Absolutely the best steak in Washington DC👍👍They only offer 1 set, include bread, salad, and steak. The only thing you have to choose is how to cook your steak.I ordered medium rare and my friend ordered medium. I have to say you can taste juicy feeling from the medium rare one.Their service also great. Please you have to come.

Medium Rare is average, in my opinion. Sauce is great, but the cut of meat is not a tender piece. It's chewy and takes patience in eating. It has good flavor, but that doesn't override everything else. Fries are great. Salad is average. Service was wonderful.

A restaurant that I like to visit between time to time, it is preferable to book a table if are going during the weekend.

It was my first time at Medium Rare after hearing good things about it from several people. The setting to me was interesting because it was a set menu for dinner. The steak was fantastic and the second round came pretty quickly. They also served some bread and salad before the steak. The waiters were friendly and funny as well. I had a great experience and would like to recommend it to anyone who is feeling like having some steak!

Very busy restaurant, but rightfully so the steak frites were just excellent and I enjoyed the convivial atmosphere. The waitstaff was friendly and on their game despite the crowd.

Delicious! The menu is a super simple 3 course meal (plus dessert), which the restaurant has mastered. The bread, salad, and of course steak and fries were marvelous. Be sure to leave room for that second helping of steak and fries.Otherwise, the ambiance was nice, though the place was a bit busy (be sure to make reservations). The service was great too!I highly recommend stopping here for a good meal

Tried out Medium Rare for brunch and was quite pleased. For $25 you really can't beat bottomless drinks, delicious appetizers and perfect steak. Service was very friendly and the food was delicious. I had the parfait for an appetizer and steak and eggs for my entree and both were fantastic. My wife had the salad for an appetizer which was also great. Overall, this was a great experience and we will certainly be back for a delicious and affordable brunch.

So good I forgot to take a picture of the food. This place is INCREDIBLE and we can’t wait to go back (and try brunch!!). Speedy, friendly, funny service; every course was awesome (even the salad!); and the bathroom soundtrack gives you French lessons. Gem of a place and we’re so excited to take all our family and friends here.

During the warmer times in the city this is a pleasant place to eat with their outdoor seating. Their menu is small but for a good price you get a 3 course meal; appetizer, entree, & desert. Of course their most popular medium rare steak comes with fries definitely recommend!

I admire this place! They prepare high class meals, they have a nice menu, The chef in that restaurant is very experienced, I like very much trying all their food. The dishes are consistently of high qualtity, the attitude towards the visitors is friendly. I frequently visit this place and I was never unsatisfied. I highly recommend it.

Recommend by a regular- visiting with a friend in DC who eats here weekly. And now I've been 3 times! When you only serve one thing, you better do it well... and they do! Perfect portion for one hungry adult. Steak always cooked to the perfect temperature. Sauce is amazing. Fries are fabulous! (Food photos on their site are true-to-life.)

We had a fantastic at this restaurant. We loved the nice ambience and the menu. The staff members were super welcoming. I’m content we ultimately decided to try this restaurant.

Its a fairly cheap restaurant for food. Streak is bland and a bit chewy but the location is popular. If you are still hungry, they give you second servings, which explains for popularity. Waitstaff is friendly and tries to cover what it is lacking in food. Atmosphere is cozy and clean - but a tight space.

Such a creative concept to keep things so simple. The key to this place is the simplicity. Because the menu is not super in depth, it allows them to do a fantastic job at what they're good at which is making a perfectly cooked steak and delicious fries.

So they only have one thing on their menu. The 3 course meal. Starts off with amazing crunchy bread. Salad is great. The steak and fries are top notch. It was a good portion for one plate. I was finishing up and then someone came over and REFILLED IT AGAIN. My mind was blown. This made the night even better. Steak is precut and tender.Stagg are friendly, quick, and nice. Place was a bit loud but the atmosphere was great. Convenient to the Red line.

It didn't have the same feel like it was prior ro the pandemic. The A/C in the front room was broken. It was hotter inside then it was outside. The service was below the standard i set for medium rare and since i live in the neighborhood im a regular i wasn't satisfied. The food made up for it though....

Medium Rare is a fine dining experience that is located in the heart of Cleveland Park. The menu is set for you at a fixed price but there is a surprise after your main meal they don't tell you. I would suggest taking your friends if they want an authentic D.C. dining experience. The dining area gets a little tight when it is at capacity but don't let that dissuade you from a one-of-kind experience. I also think it isn't a weekly experience due to the limited menu but if you love steak and fries then, by all means, make it weekly. However, if you want a change in the menu, they do offer a separate brunch menu on the weekend. In the end, I highly suggest this restaurant. Tl;dr - It is my opinion alone that the restaurant is a once a month idea, or when you have friends or family new to the area, or when you are craving tasty grilled meat and wonderful fries.

I went to medium rare tonight and had the best time ever. Such a wonderful crowd and ambience. Best old fashions in Washington DC!

This place is awesome. $23 price fixe steak, fries, and sauce is heaven. Dessert was equally amazing, hands down some of the best, if you aren't sure get the carrot cake. Service was great, sample the wines and beer if you want. Vegans and vegetarians, sorry but this place isn't for you. My only criticism is the alcohol menu is overly expensive for quality ($9 Stella) and the salad was super weak / I wouldn't pay for it if it was charged separately. But criticism aside, this place deserves a spot in the restaurant hall of fame because they BRING YOU SECONDS. That's right. More and more steak and fries. I hear the record is 6 plates. If you like medium rare steak and fries with a secret sauce that you would be perfectly happy taking a bath in, this place is where you should go.

Food was amazing, atmosphere was good, only thing that sucked was when the food runner knocked my drink over into my lap. He brought out towels, but I never heard from management or anything about it, would have expected at least for the manager to come apologize. I will need to get the pants dry cleaned now. Would have expected a somewhat better customer service experience when we spent $150 on dinner

My new go-to "no muss no fuss" restaurant in the DC area! They took care of everything and made ordering so easy! Loved the business model and the food was as great as the service.

First time here and loved it!!! The secret sauce is perfect and the steak was wonderful. Had a larger party and the waitress was very attentive and friendly. Love that the menu is predetermined. Overall a very fun and memorable experience here.

You get a second helping of steak and fries at some point in your meal. You get two servings of steak and fries for a great price. Absolutely worth a visit.

Great place for brunch. Good priced bottomless. Menu has delicious protein packed options. Friendly and helpful staff. Oh and the bathrooms teach you pick up lines in French! You'll definitely want to make a reservation for brunch ahead of time. But it's worth it.

What an awesome place for brunch! We had the steak and eggs and the sausage and eggs with bottomless mimosas. Amazing! But Gabi, our server, made the experience. He cut up with us the whole time, was such an upbeat and positive person. We love him! Give the man a raise he is literally worth his weight in gold.

We were skeptical about the set menu but were pleasantly surprised! The staff was attentive and provided super service. The food was AWESOME! We will be going back on our next visit!

A regular go to for the wife and I. Exactly what we want, when we're in the mood for steak frites. Astonishingly reasonable price. A pepper sauce to turn a vegan to bloody meats.

Just when you think it can’t get any better, you get seconds. Can’t beat the sauce, can’t beat the price. Great option when friends come to town for a visit. Especially if you want to pick up the tab. Best steak frites in the District. Hands down.

I went here on a date and turns out I don’t eat steak. Lol so he quickly tried to salvage the night and to our surprise they have a vegan option (portobello mushrooms), I love portobello mushrooms, however I wasn’t expecting it to be good, but it was extremely delicious. I also love how they come around and refill your food. The food is great, the ambiance is great and the service is great.

Awesome!!! Best dinner ever. Wow simple and amazing. How do you want your steak cooked is all you need to know. They have great service and the best gravy to go with the perfect fries. You start with a salad and get a plate of steak and fries with gravy to put on your steak or fries (both if you ask me) and then when you finish your steak and fries they bring you out a second helping of steak and fries. It's unbelievably awesome and so delicious. I can't say enough about this simple but exceptional steakhouse. Thank you so much for making my life better and letting me spend my birthdays with you.
